This enzyme belongs to the peptidase family-M14.
Moreover, There have been two proposed mechanisms: a nucleophilic mechanism (double-displacement mechanism forming a covalent-bonded intermediate) and a promoted-water mechanism (single-displacement mechanism) (see [13]).
